The beginning of my doctoral journey began in Dr. Waite's classroom. This course laid the foundation of my social justice journey and continues as I work with educators, students, and families. If I could sum up my experience of the relationship I continue to benefit from with Dr. Waite's in three statements I would say powerful, thought-provoking, and brillinat. I am eternally grateful for her investment in not just my academic goals, but also my family success. As I sat in her class attempting to hide, Dr. Waite saw me and empowered me to use my story to heal my past and step into my future.
